Interactive Training
– with an Action Learning Approach
Many RDA groups are unable to support adults as they simply do not have suitable horses, facilities or support teams. This is because with taller horses it can be difficult for volunteers to help riders mount and dismount.
We want to focus on this issue by providing mechanical hoists / platforms and using our experience to train horses to relax with them.
A hydraulic mounting platform will be attached to a horsebox to create a ‘mobile RDA’ which can go to the places where participants want to ride. Competition venues, other RDA centres or hacking around beautiful places – it will create a treasured riding experience. It can also be used to take combinations out to competitions and lessons, or transport our horses to other RDA groups that need larger horses and support with mounting and dismounting.
The horsebox design will also visit care homes and hospices for residents to re-connect with horses in a safe and private space. Anyone who understands the special relationship will know just how important this could be to a horse-lover….
We are investing in a professional booking and data management system so that people can link in with where the horsebox will be and arrange visits.
We specialise in one to one coaching for riders with disabilities, on their own horse or one belonging to the group.
With a strong background in the psychology of coaching and action learning, we are able to support groups and individuals wanting to learn more about coaching people with disabilities.
Liz loves coaching riders wishing to compete in equestrian sports. She brings extensive experience as a British Dressage listed Judge, competitor and level 4 BHS accredited professional coach.
With an understanding of the issues of dementia, MS, Parkinson’s disease and the isolation of old age, we are keen to facilitate un-mounted sessions in a calm safe environment. These will enable people to re-connect with horses even when they cannot ride.
One of our biggest ambitions is to encourage more people with life-changing conditions to be able to ride in the countryside. We want to take our horses and participants out using an accessible horsebox.
Our coaches, horses and facilities are available to trained therapists to offer EFL sessions.
We can help to find the right horse and re-train it to specific requirements on an individual basis.
